8000N Annular Submersible Load Cell 📰
2nd Nov 2021We have recently supplied this 8000N load cell for deployment 80 metres subsea to measure the tension in the mooring line of an offshore wave power generation system. This wave energy device not only generates energy, but is also able to store it via a sea floor base unit. The load cell is required to ensure that the loads on the umbilical cable running between the surface and sea floor stay within safe operational limits, and has been designed with a top and bottom adaptor plate that allows simple fixing to the base unit assembly. With an overall diameter of 267mm and just 30mm high, the load cell is also an annular design to allow the umbilical hose to run through the centre.
