2700kN ATEX/IECEx Certified Dual Bridge Load Cells 📰
24th May 2024Safely delivered today to a customer in Italy were these ATEX/IECEx certified compression load cells. A total of twenty-four were ordered for installation into a chain stopper on a floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO), with an additional load cell purchased to be held in stock as a spare. Because of the environment the load cells will be operating in, explosion proof (Ex d) certification was required along with very stringent material testing. The load cells were provided with 3.2 (with intent) material certificates, and were subject to ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing, as well a the proof load and calibration witnessed by both DNV and the customer at our premises. The load cells are rated to 2700kN and have dual redundancy with integral 4-20mA amplifiers and two 50m lengths of cable. The have also been supplied with load caps and removable carry handles.
